The start of our 2018-2019 school year!

We are very blessed and happy to continuing homeschooling! Here are a few pictures from our first week of school in August 2018. We like to gather at our new breakfast table to do some "morning time" work together.

1) Here we are singing the hymn "This is My Father’s World" and all three kids drew a picture and wrote the song title.

Noah doing a sight word hunt and graphing worksheet using his magnifying glass.

Lainey ordering the alphabet.

Recess! We love our yard and North Carolina!

Connor is proud to work in his new cursive book by Memoria Press.

Noah doing a reading activity- making words plural.

Lainey’s letter A activity!

Lunch time outside!! Thankful for this time together!

Fun Friday!

This morning we made a tornado in a jar! Noah has been interested in weather lately so I found this fun activity- we put water in a jar with a teaspoon of dish soap, vinegar, glitter and food coloring. We put the lid on and shook it in a circle and a little tornado formed! Then we opened up our new journals for this year and wrote an entry about tornadoes and drew a picture. Connor wrote his in all cursive. These journals have become a favorite because we draw and write about things we learn about throughout the year. They always enjoy drawing. It’s a great way to reinforce what we learned, good for extra writing and spelling practice, good to think about sentence formation, good for learning to summarize and put ideas onto paper, and best of all it’s a fun keepsake to have at the end of the year!
